Climate intelligence
Design responses rooted in heat, water, ecology and the realities of place.
About the review
GTR is where research, professional experience and fresh questions meet—making sustainable building more relevant, readable and actionable for Africa.
Why GTR exists
Buildings are never only objects. They influence health, energy, culture, livelihoods, climate resilience and the character of everyday life. Yet the ideas shaping them often remain trapped in specialist reports—or arrive in Africa without enough attention to context.
Green Thinking Review opens that conversation. It brings useful research closer to practice, makes room for African realities and asks the practical question behind every edition: what might we do differently because we now know this?
What we cover
How can the built environment support human and planetary flourishing—here, now and into the future?
Design responses rooted in heat, water, ecology and the realities of place.
Buildings and cities understood through comfort, dignity, belonging and flourishing.
Circular construction, lower-impact choices and better ways to value what already exists.
African knowledge, judgement and productive capacity—not imported answers without discernment.
Serious ideas translated into language that practitioners, clients and communities can use.
Smart systems governed by wisdom, maintainability and human and ecological purpose.
